The ZERI Educational Initiative

The research initiative ZERI is a positive way of looking at the world. It was launched in 1994 at the United Nations University in Japan, as a network of scientists who are committed to finding innovative solutions to the pressing problems of our time through utilizing what is already available.

In nature, everything has value, whatever is waste for a species of one kingdom, is a nutrient for a living organism in another kingdom... because the five kingdoms of nature generate sufficient for everyone on Earth. After having initiated concrete projects responding to the crises of the coffee and rice farmer, social housing, health care on four continents, ZERI decided to share its vision with the next generation of leaders so they would never stop dreaming. ZERI's educational initiative proposes that children, adolescents and young adults learn science easier, with a profound academic understanding.

At the same time they develop their emotional intelligence, which permits them to better understand themselves, and to learn how to relate to others, as well as developing artistic expression as a communication system which goes beyond words for the first time, and finally there is the capacity to put all this together, to generate new ideas and concepts, interrelating the five intelligences into one context - our ecosystem.

This is complex, but not difficult to understand. This educational initiative boasts all five intelligences simultaneously:

Based on this strategy, future generations will be full of creativity, ready to innovate, with clear ethical values, as well as determined to create a better world, such as their parents could never have imagined.
