The ZERI Pavilion obtained a building permit for a construction material which had never been used in Germany. This converted bamboo as a symbol of poverty, into the symbol for sustainable architecture. This is a key achievement of the EXPO.

Bamboo building projects have been confirmed thanks to the World Expo in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe.
